Message from the President
OSGOOD STATE BANK – Celebrating 100 Years of Service
I would like to personally thank our employees and customers
for another successful year in 2014. As President of
Osgood State Bank, I’m extremely proud that we are known for
being a strong community bank--one in which we know our
customers by name, and our employees actively give back to the
communities we serve.
In 2014, Osgood State Bank (OSB) grew deposits by approximately 4%
while our loan balances grew by 26%. This growth was only made
possible by the efforts of our talented staff. Our team focuses on
relationship banking by taking the time to understand the financial
needs of individuals and business that bank with us As a
result, the bank recorded net income of $1.1 million for the year,
an increase of 12% over the prior year.
Part of the bank’s
success was derived from the bank’s Wealth Management Department.
This area is managed by licensed representative Peggy Drees and
continues to grow, providing assistance in retirement and succession
planning for small business owners and high net worth customers.
Regarding upgrades, OSB implemented the following new products,
services, and facility improvements during the past year:
Remote Deposit Capture was introduced to our business customers
which allows them to deposit checks at their place of business
by scanning and transmitting the images to our bank for posting
and clearing. The installation and set-up of this service is
easy, saves our customers’ time, and helps to reduce the risk of
bank joined the Money-Pass ATM network, which in 2015 will give
OSB Debit Card customers access to over 24,000 ATM’s throughout
the United States for ATMs that display the Money-Pass logo.
The service provides our customers access to their funds 24/7
anywhere in the United States with no ATM surcharge fees.
Plans were made in 2014 to remodel our Osgood office lobby.
Upon completion in 2015, the branch will have an improved
workflow for staff and a better experience for our customers.
The new layout will also allow the Bank to showcase the 100 year
history of Osgood State Bank and the communities it serves (via
special display exhibits).
Our bank commitment expands to all the communities we serve.
We contribute through donations and scholarships to our local
communities and by the OSB family volunteering their time and
talent to local organizations and events. This includes
investing in the success of area schools. OSB offers a
financial literacy program to students (with bank employee
instruction) that provides students with the financial knowledge
needed to survive in the real world.
As well as
recognizing scholars, the bank takes great pride in area
athletic programs. 2014 marked the first annual Flyer-Gate
football festival at Marion Local School. In traditional
fashion, we also celebrated area sports by sponsoring Fort
Loramie High School football’s 10th annual Loramie-Gate and the
3rd Annual Indian Lake High School Spirit Night. These
events encourage our youth to be contributors to the success of
our towns and municipalities.
Finally, OSB will mark its 100 year anniversary in 2015 and will
have a variety of special events during the year celebrating
this milestone. Our bank was established on August 19,
1915… and the founders wanted a bank that promoted a
customer-first mentality. That tradition of putting the
customer first continues today, as promoting customer
relationships through excellent service and sound banking
practices is our number one goal. As we celebrate our
100th Anniversary, we believe in Remembering our Past, Embracing
the Present, and Growing for the Future as a local community
