Osgood, OH – May 18, 2023
Each year, the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) celebrates Community Banking Month in April – which is a celebration of the unwavering commitment of community banks to help consumers and small businesses achieve their financial goals to create communities of prosperity. This year, Osgood Bank affirmed its commitment to the local community through impactful contributions from the Osgood Foundation. Donations were made to esteemed nonprofit organizations that play vital roles in supporting community needs.
For over 100 years, through ongoing support and partnerships, Osgood Bank has continued to foster economic growth, provide crucial financial services, and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.
In line with this commitment, Osgood Bank proudly announces $10,000 ($2,500 per organization) in total recent contributions were made to the following local nonprofit organizations:
Mercer County Special Olympics.
This organization provides a variety of athletic opportunities for individuals with disabilities in Mercer County, Ohio. Special Olympics programs contribute to the physical, social, and psychological development of participating athletes. The Special Olympics helps participants “gain confidence and build a positive self-image which carries into the classroom, home, job, and community” (Special Olympics Ohio).
SAFY of Sidney.
Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth (SAFY) focuses on family. “We offer Therapeutic Foster Care, Outpatient Behavioral Health, and Adoption services to strengthen and preserve families” (SAFY). With a stable home environment, the youth of our community can achieve their full potential.
Lakeview Fireman’s Club.
The Fireman’s Club supports the Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department. Volunteer firefighters help the community during some of the most challenging parts of their lives; their service and safety are paramount. Club President, Joe Ferryman said, “This donation is greatly appreciated and will be used very soon to help purchase protective gear”.
Empowering Darke County Youth.
EDCY program supports students that need academic support by providing free after school and summer tutoring programs in the areas of language arts and mathematics. “This donation will help Empowering Darke County Youth continue its free after school tutoring of at-risk students. It is appreciated very much” said President Delores Ely.
These organizations have demonstrated exceptional dedication to service the community and their efforts align with the values cherished by Osgood Bank. By supporting their initiatives, Osgood Bank aims to empower each organization to continue their vital work and positive impact on the lives of our community members.
