Senior Lending Officer


Osgood Bank's Senior Lending Officer works in Osgood, OH and oversees the banks in-market portfolio of commercial and consumer lending from a production, relationship, and servicing perspective. Drives sales efforts to generate new business based upon growth goals and ensures superior servicing of existing relationships. Leads and manages a team of local commercial and consumer lenders. Partners with the credit department on underwriting new loans and portfolio management of existing in-market relationships. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drives sales and business development efforts within the bank for in-market commercial and consumer lending (primarily focused on home loans).

  • Manages large and/or complex commercial loan relationships. Interviews applicants and collects and analyzes financial and related data to establish credit worthiness.

  • Works with credit analysts to prepare credit presentations, including narrative comments of cash flow and collateral analysis.

  • Oversees residential and consumer loan production. Assists mortgage lenders in coordinating complex requests through underwriting and decisioning.

  • Monitors monthly, quarterly, and annual in-market “pipelines/production totals” for all types of in-market loans.

  • Tracks and manages in-market loan delinquency for all types of loans. Ensures that appropriate action steps are taken for each delinquent loan / relationship.

  • Develops and maintains calling programs for local centers of influence, including residential/commercial contractors, realtors, community development partners and other loan referral sources.

  • Promotes the cross-selling of all bank products and services to loan customers, when appropriate.

  • Performs the role as an “Exception Lender” on in-market requests that require “Exception Approval,” per the bank’s Lending Policy.

  • Makes pricing recommendations for in-market commercial/consumer rates in collaboration with the bank’s Pricing Committee.

  • Trains and mentors Commercial Lenders and Branch Managers on loan products, loan structures and pricing, for all types of in-market loans.

Support Functions:

  • Creates positive work relationships to enhance an effective sales and service environment.

  • Builds relationships through marketing/community involvement while learning about each client's personal and/or business financial needs.

  • Serves as a resource for credit policy and procedure interpretation for all in-market lending staff.

Customer Care Functions:

  • As needed support branch overdraft/payment decisions, provide wire approvals, and provide cashier check signing.

  • A minimum of 5 years of commercial and consumer lending, relationship management, credit and/or loan processing experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent related experience.

  • Knowledge of accounting and spreadsheet applications.

  • Prior banking experience is required.

  • Prior management experience is preferred.
